Jeff

So this last week we were in Las Vegas with some friends.  On Sat, we were walking around and came across a Michael Godard gallery.  Jen and I have both wanted some Godard art for a long time.  There was one piece that Jen really liked, and after she went off to do some stuff with another friend, I went back and bought it.  It was an artist enhanced limited edition of "Passed Out".  Then  the guys say "Hey, Godard's going to be here tonight, and will do embellishments to your pic if you want".  Of course I was game.

So we came back and met Godard.  He said that if we wanted, he'd also do a paint drawing for us as well as the embellishments.  We jumped on it.  So we talked with him for a few minutes about what we wanted, and while I can't give you the whole story, here's the end result...

Here's all the pics:

Here he is doing the embellishments to the other piece:

This was so absolutely cool, I can't even begin to capture it.  Probably the best part was that while he was doing the work, he just seemed like he was having the best time of his life.  He did say that it was the most fun he'd had working with people and doing a drawing in a LONG time, and sounded convincing enough to sell me on the story. (shit, I don't care if he was lying, I believed it..).

Meeting an icon is always a scary proposition for me because I've been let down and pissed off a LOT by many famous people.  However, this was one of the rare exceptions...

I have video of him doing the drawing.  Took him about 25 mins.  I sped it up a bit here.
