first race with CCS. ran on a new to me 848 only have 3 track days and 1 race weekend at Loudon on it. what a weekend, being home track and only 1.5 hours from home ment sleep in my own bed too. signed up for heavyweight supersport, f40 & supertwins. saturday scored 3rd in f40 & supertwins. heavyweight supsport i was going back and forth with a friend on another 848 for a couple laps before he got by a 2 guys i didnt. although slightly faster i never got the right time to get both.

sunday was another story,  heavyweight ss finished 8th. was in a 5 bike battle for 5-10 place so it was atleast fun. it was also the first lap time i saw posted and set a new pb by 2 seconds over my previous bike (RC51) 1:12.8. after that race i was real tired and didnt feel to good. was thinking the combo of a monster, lack of sleep. still had 2 hours to next race and figured since i didnt eat anything different then any other day at the track i must be overheating. kept a cold towel on my head and drank a ton of water and a little gatorade. about an hour later was feeling much better and a side affect of visiting the portajon every 15 minutes.

F40 race was next 3rd row start. think i was 2 or 3 into t1. i did see 1 fast guy get away and had a buell 1125 in front of me. took me a couple laps to to get close enough to see him dragging a peg in the long right. as soon as i saw that i new i could get him in turn. we went back and forth for 3-4 laps till i thought i was pulling away. last lap a gsxr750 comes by at the end of the straight. stayed on his tail and got a great drive out of the last turn. got in his draft and was gaining quickly, pulled out and we hit the finish what looked like dead even. when they posted the results i was scored 3rd was later updated i was 4th. last race supertwins was awesome finally got 1st win. got the holeshot and lead the entire race. was trying to get by a couple experts early to get a cushion behind me but didnt work. i could hear the same buell on my tail most of the race. apparently he was never more then 10-20ft behind me. we checked out on the rest of the field. of course i had the camera running that race but theres nothing to see past the first lap. the little red rocket 848 was fantastic all weekend, smallest bike in supertwins race. cant wait to see the published rece and lap times. im hoping i got to the 1:11's and really want to see how close the f40 was.

Congrats to both of you. Sunday was my first time racing ever. I ran MW Supersport AM and MW GP AM...and yes, I was the dillhole that jump started on the Grand Prix Race. I'm sorry if I pissed anyone off by crossing over into the field after jump starting. Real dumb rookie mistake that won't happen again.

My first race weekend at VIR I thought the white flag was the checkered :p

Truth be told, it's not too uncommon for the diaper to be flown twice.  So a word of warning, be sure you see which flag it really is!

Sounds like Supertwins was a hell of a race. :(

Yea, I was one row ahead of you when you jumped forward. There were a few jump starts with the two wave format, not that first time that happened !  I did the opposite on my first race on Saturday; thought it was a two wave (as per the gird sheet), but it was one. Left sitting on the grid like an idiot. Still met my goal by not finishing last  :thumb:

Only downside was that one lap two they stuck out the meatball flag. ON lap two, saw it again, and figured it was for me for I was alone on the straight. Came in only to find out it wasn't for me. I was a bit pissed, but I should have looked for a number. Just didn't realize they would leave the flag hanging out there for the entire race.

So you're not the only one with a stupid rookie mistake

Overall, that was the most fun I ever had a race track. Awesome time overall and big thank to CCS for going were WERA fears to go  :thumb:

Again, apologies to you and anyone else. I honestly didn't notice the meatball flag until the 3rd lap (i think). I didn't see my number but I knew it was for me. I was so pissed at myself because I wanted to make my second race a better one than the first. After I screwed up I just lost focus and couldn't get anything right. My lines, braking points, etc...were all off after that.
