heartland park check in?

I'll be coming to HPT to play camera man and helping a few friends out because i got totally fuckered up in a wreck not long ago. did they ever decide to let folks check in any later? if not, what's the cut off time to be there friday night?

I just called and they said that gates close at 5pm.

WOW!!! That's a good bit earlier than the past few years.
Not that it matters much, but is there a reason for that???

Okay, I just called back to clarify. The lady I spoke to said that registration closes at 6pm and there is 24hr access to/from the track. Not sure why I got a different answer this time?

Based on past experience........  24 hr access if you have a wristband.  If you miss the registration hours you're sitting outside the gate until the next morning.   Gate guard has no way to sell you a wristband.

Things may have changed for this year.....  but in past years there's been a number of folks sitting outside the gate for the night.

I met with the HPT staff today to review plans for this coming weekend and they agreed to keep registration open til 7:00 on Friday night.  There will be 24 hour access once you have a wrist band.
