If you'd like to post a larger pic, feel free to link through any of the free photo hosting sites like PhotoBucket or Flickr.

BTW: Bandwidth costs money. ;)

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Seriously?  why would you need more than 512kb?  any pic that is even close to that is so huge that it's not viewable on a standard 1024x768 display, or the quality is so uselessly high it is ridiculous.

if you must, host it in the gallery and then use the BBS code to put it up here...

Or if you don't have anything to resize it with, go to www.irfanview.com and download that.

Maybe bandwidth wouldn't be a concern if the domain wasn't hosted in Germany?
I don't know of too many hosting companies that don't offer pretty much unlimited
monthly bandwidth or at least something in the TB range which I would guess the ccsforum.com
website wouldn't come anywhere near reaching during any given month.

Domain servers in listed order:
LTW.LORIS.TV
NS1.BAWUE.NET

On the other hand the reason for smaller attachments is so that those members with slower conenctions
to the Internet don't have to wait forever for a thread to load because someone has filled it with 20 1MB
or larger pictures.  And like Spyderchick said you can always upload them to Flickr or Photobucket and then
link to them.  The other downside I see to larger pictures is the space within the actual post, it's not large enough
to display an image within the gray area which then causes people to have to scroll left and right and no one likes
to scroll left to right.

bandwidth is not the problem.  the server is where i choose it to be for many reasons.  Privacy and actually knowing every last person on it is pretty much at the top of the list there.  This site is generally less than 20gb/mo in bandwidth.  I have done +2tb/mo with no charges, but anyhow, again, BW is not the issue.

The issue is that there's no logical reason for an attached picture to be more than 512kb.  As mentioned, having a thread full of pics that are 8mb and 5000 pix wide just because some moron doesn't understand how to size a picture appropriately gets VERY irritating.

Additionally, as mentioned, if anyone really wants to put in a monster picture just to piss people off, they can either host it LOCALLY in the gallery (just click that big ole "gallery" button on the top of the page, load the picture and it'll even give you the BBS code to put the picture in here), or host it elsewhere.
