Call me dumb but I don't get it. The AMA says there are no hp limits in "Daytona Sportbike" or 1hp to 3ibs no dyno. Huh? If that is not telling you that you are restricted what is. Why the fuck is the hp so low? Why not 2 or 2.5 ? Shit you would have a pretty heavy machine to make serious power. I don't get it. Regards, Dan

LOL!  What are you asking or saying?

There is no established HP enforced limit.  But there are only specific items that will be allowed in competition.  Even rear sets.  All of those items that will be allowed must be homogized, available to competitors, and have a contingency program.

If Power Commander makes a PC VIII that gives 72 more HP to a bike, it can't be used unless it is homogized, available, and has a contingency program.  So, as an example, Yamaha factory racing, if they are going to use a whizbang ECM that can change decel fuel, it would have to follow the route and availability too.

And don't forget that the fuel they are required to use will make less HP than pump gas.  No more $18 to $100 special blends of fuel.

Yeah, agreed.  Certainly give the AMA pro racing program a better directed purpose.

So, are you an Ivan goin' AMA racing then in 2009?

Not sure yet.  XB wouldn't work in the AMA.  I've got a simple schedule posted on my one site.  I could use some work too.  Kind of slim pickin's.
