I've just got done releasing a new version of MyRacingBio.com putting us at an even Revision #50 of the code. There are a number of things as usual that I've updated that you won't notice.

On the small side I've cleaned up event selection. When you choose an even, the list of sessions will be displayed on the main portion of the page as well as in the drop down box. This should clear up some confusion on that page and make things faster to use.

On the big side I have added a huge new feature to rider associations. A handful of people have contacted me in regards to the use of multiple names or change of name with CCS and also that team results are not showing up in their "My Results" section.

I have added a name override AS WELL as a race team name option in the association form. If you have multiple names with a race organization though, you will still need to add multiple associations. This also holds true for race teams. I noted 1 large error on the side of data from CCS that everyone should consider when filling out and creating multiple associations.

As an example, RnR cycles has a race team, they are listed in the results in 2 difference ways:

  • RnR Racing
  • RnR

Looking at your own results will show you what is in use. Just go to a race you know you rode in as a team and see how they have it listed. From there create the appropriate associations. In the example above you would need to create 2 associations to cover both version of the race team name.

I have also fixed a bug that I've emailed about 40 possible effected people about which follows.
QuoteDear User,
A bug came to my attention today that allow for someone to enter into the "My Control Panel" area of MyRacingBio.com at the end of user registration without forcing that person to log in. As a result of this bug I had dozens of User Associations in the database that were tied to an anonymous user, instead of the user that your signed up as. This behavior did not throw an error so I did not find it until this morning while testing user-signup.

I spent a good deal of time today trying to resolve these issues by hand, but it was too difficult to match up the anonymous links to a user due to multiple same names and multiple uses of rider numbers across dates.  Unfortunately I have had to delete these records as a resolution. If you would like to enable the use of the "My Events" section and other features, you can log into MyRacingBio.com and go to "My Associations" in your "My CP" Area.

Along with multiple other fixes and new features I have fixed the bug that allowed this to happen this afternoon. I'm sorry for any issues or difficulties caused and if you have any questions or need help please feel free to email me directly.

Thank
Russ

I was looking at making an association for our TC team.

I was just trying to see if there were any TC times up and thought about adding it as an association, but I didn't see any times posted from the TC in Daytona (which is the times I was interested in). I just figured CCS didn't have them so I didn't go any further.  Figured it was alot of data etc.

So your saying now I can associate my name, team names, as well as my number? That would be nice since everyone spells my last name wrong about 99% of the time.

I'll have to go poke around some more on it now.

I don't have full knowledge of all of the racing that CCS does. However if there are times for events that they run that you don't see on the site, contact them and have others do as well. It's you as a CCS customer that drives their desire to work with me....

Could you add LRRS to the list of associations? Thanks.

I would absolutly love to, unfortunetly they don't send me their times. LRRS uses the Westhold timing system and does things differently than the rest of CCS. I would love to include their data in my results. I would start by emailing the heads of LRRS and making a request that they do business with me. They might already use MyLaps.com, but I assure you I'm working very hard to make sure I'm way better than they are...
