I just posted some of my writing on my blog and this is one of them. Not that it has anything to do with anything, just shooting the Bull.

The days they come the days they go.
But through it all we continue to grow.

We all get older that is so true.
So don't think it won't happen to you.

The days seem shorter as we grow old.
So treat them all like precious gold.

But I'm not ready to lay down and die.
You can't make me quit, so don't even try.

I'm not ready to empty the cup.
It's still half full, I won't give up.

Even though we start to turn gray.
Doesn't mean we have to get out of the way.

There's still alot the young one's could learn.
If we just step up and demand our turn.

Sure they have youth on their side.
But there's nothing they're doing that we haven't tried.

Enjoy it boys while you can.
Because one day you'll look up and be the old man...

Well then let just say I'm not getting any younger.

Ahem...

The old man he stared in the mirror one day,
Looked at the wrinkles and sighed in dismay,

He fumbled for his wallet, put on his glasses,
Sipped on his tea with a touch of molasses....

Then limped down the street to his local bike dealer,
Got him a GIXXER!!!  and sat on that two wheeler.

The wrinkles seemed less covered under the leather,
And that old knee didn't ache with the changing of weather.

His eyes started to twinkle as the visor came down,
The arthritis was less as his wrist twisted round.

He did not grab his pills as his heart fluttered so much,
His spine tingled with bending, he let out the clutch.

A course of emotion surged through his veins,
As motor and sprocket pulled on the chain.

The staff stared in amazement, their eyes opened wide,
As out of the showroom that old man did ride...

A twelve o'clock wheelie through the center of town,
All heads turned and stared, "hey aint that old man Brown!"

For hundreds of miles on the asphalt he roamed,
They found him the next morning in a ditch near his home.

His eyes opened wide and a smile on his face,
Clutching an old picture...of his very first race...

God did not make us to just whither and die,
With purpose through Christ, He wants us to fly.
