Wave Rotors in Supersport

Are wave rotors legal in supersport classes? I'm assuming they are as long as they are the same diameter. Thanks for your help!

Yes, they are legal in CCS supersport.  They are nott legal in most other organizations' supersport classes, in case you cross over.

If the bike was not originally equipt with "floating" rotors, and the new ones are... I don't think that would be legal, but this shouldn't be an issue for any bike made in the last 10 years.

The SS rules state that aftermarket rotors are legal as long as the are made to the original diameter and made from ferrous material.


Here is what the rule book states:
5.2.4 All machines must have operational front and rear brakes.

A. Brake discs made of aluminum, or carbon fi ber, are not permitted.


6.1.2 All motorcycles must meet the following requirements in addition to the
applicable requirements in Section 5.
A. Original equipment wheels, brake calipers, forks, frame, engine, fuel
induction system, and swing arm must be used.
(1) 18" wheels may be replaced with 17" wheels of the same width.
(2) 16" wheels may be replaced with 17" wheels of the same width.
(3) Rear swing arms on OEM Belt drive motorcycles may be
replaced to convert fi nal drive assembly from belt to chain drive.
B. Aftermarket brake rotors may be used but must be the same
dimensions as the originals and must be made of a ferrous material.
Non-current motorcycles may use brake rotors up to the same size
as those that come as original equipment on the current model
machine.

As Guy points out, the actual rulebook is vastly superior to my "memory" rulebook... and its available online, while mine is only randomly available.

Quite shaky indeed.  Luckily the brain synapes for remembering to zip my fly still works, however the one that helps you ride a motorcycle has vanished.  I'd swap them, except my wife threw out all my "MC-Hammer pants"-  Oh, no, wait that's Jimmy.  See!  I lost that one too.
