heres whats in the rule book about age limits. but what is the reasons for the way it is broken down into those classes?

2.1 CCS AGE REQUIREMENT - Applicants must be at least 12 years of age.
Applicants below the age of majority in their home state must provide a
notarized statement of permission from a legal parent or guardian at each
event. Championship Cup Series reserves the right to restrict participation in
any event based on age and/or specifi c track regulations.
2.1.1 All Riders between the ages of 12 and 14 are limited to 125 GP.
2.1.2 Riders with Amateur status between the ages of 14 and 16 are limited
to Lightweight Classes.
2.1.3 Riders under the age of 16 are not permitted to compete at Daytona
International Speedway, regardless of status.
2.1.4 CCS Affi liates have the right to set different minimum age
requirements as deemed necessary by their management.

Why wouldn't it be broken down into smaller CC classes?  Smaller bikes are easier to start with.  And if you didn't do it, somebody would drop a 12 year old on a 1000...

If I am interpreting the rule book correctly, than it does effectively prohibit young kids from being on large displacement bikes.

i.e........12 to 14 yrs: 125 GP only
14 to 16 yrs: light weight only

So there you go, in not so many words the rule book limits eligibility based on displacement. Your 16 year old can ride an SV 650, but not a 600 or 1000.

I guess you could try and implement some kind of height limitation as well, but where would that leave Becca?  :spank:

I'm sure you'll have fun!!!

I won't get in until about 7pm Friday and could try and save you guys a spot  in the general vacinity of the rest of the tire guys (if they're not all taken.)    I'd give you my cell # except I get really crappy reception at Blackhawk.

What CCS number did you end up with?

I'm opposed to age limits.  Just because I'm a little older doesn't mean I shouldn't be allowed on the grid...and I definitely shouldn't be limited to only the larger bikes.... :ass:

In your case Don maybe a b(u)ell curve would be appropriate.  :thumb:

I havent gotten one this year. I got stuck with 877 last year, hopefully I can keep my 87, dont really feel like peeling stickers. We would greatly appreciate a saved spot, if everything goes well we should be getting to the track at a similar time to you so it may not be a big deal, but im not sure when im getting of work. Anyway, see you there. And if you do save us a spot, we will likely be running off the side of Anthony's trailer + a 10X10 popup. Thanks.
