Does anyone else see this another good argument against AM UNL GP payouts?

My biggest concern is that Smiley won't be able to run into town every 2-3 hours and pick up more beer for us.

Wow... Are you looking to start a fight?

This accident was not in Unl GP, nor did they guy that caused the crash fill out contingency.

While I am not defending AM payouts.
But this has nothing to do with the subject.

One guy made a mistake...
He came here to publicly voice an apology.
Leave it at that... its none of the rest of our concerns.

No, it was not GP, but the point is the discussion about risk and how much to take at what time, and about learning gradually while trying to mitigate risk to one's self and other riders.  How much more risk would the rider have taken had there been money on the line?  He was clearly concerned about position in an AM race to the point of taking such risks beyond his skill level, so how much more would he have taken for not just position but payout too?

Xian_13

And what does this have to do with the price of tea in China?

"clearly"
You assume, he knew the risk he was taking. (saying that he took a risk, and not made a mistake)
Furthermore, you assume he was willing to risk more for money. Even though there is not one piece of evidence that says he would do anything for money.

Clearly, you want to make that point yet again... that AMs shouldn't have money races.
Thats fine... write a letter to CCS.

And just for the record...
I was hit by other riders more times on my first EX weekend, then I was the whole time I was an AM.
Mistakes happen at all levels, don't come off like your perfect.

This is racing. Contact happens. We dont have "buffer zones" like track days do. We are pushing the bikes harder than trackdays generally do. I've been hit from behind from riders trying to pass on the inside when I was already committed to the corner. Both times it was a mistake on their part but I didnt go get bent out of shape over it. Its part of racing.

As someone else said,
This is between Mark and Smiley
Mark manned up and Smiley, despite being pissed, accepted it
End of story.

But to the guys who want to bag on Mark...

Last time I checked we aren't members of the Championship Quilting Series.
You want something safer?
I hear bingo tourneys are loads o' fun.

I got taken out last weekend too.
The guy apologized - I was pissed, but accepted it
My incident was a racing incident
This one sounds like a racing incident too
They happen at the club level
They happen at the pro level
They happen
Thats racing

Deal with it

Ron, you are a such a good guy.  You will get your 30 dollars back,  I promise.  Just be gentle on the interest. Send me a P.M. I wanted to talk to you about the road america weekend, sauce said you were looking to get your trailer up there.  If you got room for my bike I'll haul it for ya.  As my trailer has gotten too small.  That is of course if its okay for my bike to be next to the  "CHAMPS"  bike.
