Here is a link to the new track which is under construction as we speak. As it says it is the only fully dedicated road course in North Carolina. It is right off I85 near Salisbury,NC. The track will be right along the interstate and will be the first "green" track in the country. Check out the link for the track map and info as more things become available! From what I have heard the paving will begin very soon. All the tree clearance and excavation is complete. You thought VIR is great this place may give it a run for the money! :thumb:

that's pretty cool.

But what's this all about???

QuoteHigh Rock Raceway will be seeking safety approval from the FIA, FIM, AMA, SCCA and NASA.

what are they doing that would require NASA safety approval???

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOOOHOOO! What a freaken ride"

We have been waiting around for this for a while. They encountered a lot of local building permit problems as well as building on a civil war battleground. Also they had to remove some toxic sludge left over from a textile mill that used to be there. You will have a view of the lake at turn 1.The condos they are building will have all the latest energy efficient designs. They reused all the trees they cleared and grounded them up for landscaping. I can't wait to see this track it when it is finished. The NASCAR boys will like this for testing for road course races as you know most teams reside close by in Concord.  :thumb:
