Cancer, Suomy, and the Team Challenge

Well, my road racing season is coming up quick.  Yet another season, and it's always just unbelievable that it's been so many years that I've done this.  Thanks for putting up with me.   

A couple things...

I'll be racing to generate pediatric cancer research funds again in 2008.  I raced an SV1000S last year, and Suzuki's contingency money was a great help to that end in addition to those that gave generously at the track and online.  I'll be racing a GSXR750 this year on a similar schedule.  It's been a "few" years since I've raced one, so I'm looking forward to checking out the changes.

For 2008, Suomy USA has commited to giving me a couple Suomy Vandal helmets to give away from a drawing that I do from names of individuals that donate to either of the pediatric cancer programs that I give funds to through my donation sites or even track side, when one fills out a little note.

For the past two years, I've raced the Heartland Park Topeka Team Challenge event.  My partner Tim Hull and I won GTU in 2006, and 2007 didn't have the story book ending.  I did finish third in GTU with RNR Cycles though, but the other three teams I was with didn't do so well.  We were graced with an honorary pit crew both years made up of some "Stars", pediatric cancer survivors.  The purse money was a way for us to give even more to the cause.

Everything looks firm to race with RNR Cycles in a few weeks in the Team Challenge again at HPT.  Unsure if any of the stars are going to make it out at this time.

I can't wait!! I'm glad your up to racing with us again in the TC race.

It was nice to see all the 'stars' having a great time haning out at the track last year. Hopefully this year we can put the story book back in the ending again.

Being from KS originally I'm looking forward to the HPT weekend! its one of the only times everyone back home and I get see each other.
