I have an 04 GSXR 750 that I am trying to get ready for the april CMP event. The rule book says I need case covers so I have two questions.

1. When facing the rear of the bike, the right side has a cover in which the oil fill cap and oil level window are a part of. Is that what needs to be replaced on the right side and the smaller cover on the left?

2. Is replacing these covers more difficult than draining the oil, removing the bolts, replacing the gaskets and bolting the new ones on? Anything crazy I need to look for?

Thanks
-Peter

04 is not that large of a cover, if you look on websites for the cover makers you should be able to find pics of the one that should be replaced. Can't rememebr how big for that particular year but none of the covers replace the oil fill or sight glass.

You might check out vendors like Moto-Race (Moto-R) too... they make great case covers that are just small protective add-ons rather than replacing the OEM cover (for selected bikes like my 06 gsxr).

I believe moto-r is no more.  I heard they were bought out by speedwerks.  Not sure what`s gonna happen to their line of case covers.  Maybe continued with a new name?  Anyone know?  Good stuff though.

BTW I have a brand new Factory Pro left side case cover for that bike that I am closing out. I would love to hook someone up cheap if you are interested...

Okay I am now a little confused......I just spent part of my weekend installing the hardened billet alluminum cases from vortex so that I could meet tech requirements for my bike. The rulebook says that this is what is required for my model bike. (04 GSXR 750). Please tell me that this is still super sport legal. I read in the rule book a place that suggested that it may not be.....

You installed case covers. NOT cases. You are legal.
