There's an excellent "Archives" article featuring our own Mr. Ed Key in the February 13th issue of Cycle News. Pick up a copy at your local dealer. It's a great read, complete with an awesome photo of Ed leading an 18-year-old Kevin Schwantz during the WERA GNF in 1984.

Best line of the article: "If you were going to beat Ed Key, you had to have the screws on, because he was a good rider," Schwantz said. "He was a guy who never put a wheel wrong, and he also had really fast bikes."

Well said Kevin. True then and still true today...

I went to a few different magazine shops and couldn't find Cycle News.  I emailed Cycle News about getting the issue but they never replied.  Can anybody tell me how to get the single issue?

Hey Craig, if you find out where to get a copy of Cycle News, with that article on Ed, let me know!

get any issue of CN and you can order copies of past issues. you should have a subscription already anyway.....what's up with not having one?

PJ

Craig or Barb, I'd be happy to send you my copy. Just let me know where to send it.

Hey Gordy,  Ed used to have a subscription, but I have no idea why he didn't continue with it.

I love it!  You guys are the best, and that's why I continue to enjoy working at the races!

Got the copy the other day.  Thanks!  I know Ed's parents are going to love seeing the article.
