Just got word that the Steel Shoe Fund 3 hour ice race that was to be held at Lake Koshkonong this Sunday has been canceled for this year. :kicknuts:

Ma Nature has not been kind to us again. This recent snow dumped almost 2' of heavy wet stuff on the lake and it is now a mess. Apparently the weight of the snow has pushed the ice down and water is pumping up on top of the ice.  The plow man went there stepped on the snow and went through to a few inches of water under it. Something we don't want to race on. Yes it is going to get cold but not long enough for that water to freeze.  :banghead:

So, this is the 3rd year the event has been canceled due to conditions at Koshkonong. That is why we went to Fox Lake a few weeks ago and checked that out.  Things are in motion to hold the event at the Boat House Bar next year. There's a much better chance of having good ice there. Plus the facility is great.

I realize this is frustrasting for everyone. Believe me the fund needs the income from this event. Three years without it and the money to assist injured flat trackers is dwindling rapidly.

Please come back next year and support this worthwhile event. I can't make promises where Ma Nature is concerend but trust me we are doing everything we can to keep this event going.

Thank you everyone for your past support. i look forward to seeing you next year!! :thumb:
