This new symbol is free to take and use for anyone that is an "IFS. " That's Independent Forum Supporter. IFS members believe in forums owned, operated, contributed too, and sponsored by riders. Not, giant cooperate forum owners. Forums owned and operated by real riders promote the following:
1) Open and honest dialog. Not cooperate moderated threads that allow you to see only what they want you to see.
2) Free participation for members WITHOUT annoying ad's you have to pay to get rid of.
3) Fair banner ad pricing for vendor's. Mega inflated advertising costs only get passed on to the members and are bad for the industry!
Support vendors that support our best interests. Look for the IFS symbol. Ask your vendor if they are an IFS!

Higher advertising cost mean higher costs that we all have to pay to play

If you belive in the above mission statemnet make sure to put in in you avatars, signatures, websites, etc.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOOOHOOO! What a freaken ride"

esportbike went from being a fun forum to a complete joke since they were bought from Mike. Top banners I can live with, Side banners I can deal with, but FUCK THE FREAKING POPUPS from there that even bypass popup blockers. And they wonder where everyone went. Nice how you can read posts 1 month back without going to page 2 when it used to be 3 pages A DAY easily.

As for sportbikeworld, I wont even go into what I think of the guy who started that board.

It costs money to operate these boards. Hosting fees, bbs software fees (other than smf and phpbb, they all cost $$) and other misc costs. I dont see how vendors fees for banners are passed to the members. I've only seen a few boards that require a 'membership' to post at all and a few others that a paid membership gets you special privies that free members dont get. Thing is none of the sites I've seen are bike related. I dont like the idea of advertising corporations buying forums. All they do usually is spam teh hell out of them and eventually a active forum dies completely. Thats whats happening at esportbike.

superbikesunlimited.com is has no sponsors and R6-forumz.com has very few but no banners. and it's pretty much a free for all as long as you're respectful to the other members.

Funny that r6messagenet is on there. I just went to their site and it didn't seem that they sold out. So when is ccsforum going to be for sale? Or the wera board. I guess everyone has their price.
