Who's changing racing classes for 2008?

Super Dave

I raced a V-twin last year, which I never did before.  Lots of fun in Supertwins.  Never raced in that class before.  Good times.  Not sure if I'll have that bike as it's FOR SALE as I don't think Suzuki is going to offer contingency to SV1000 riders in 2008.

I raced in some HW and UL classes on the SV1000, but my all my 600's are now gone.  First time I've been six-hundredless since 1998.

So, who's changing and getting into what class?

Will campaign my SV650  in LW exp. but then slowly migrate to MW/HW with my R6 (if I haven't sold it due to economic realities).

Dave, I vote you just keep that sv.  I have had more fun watching you tear up the track on that bike than you can believe.  It certainly seems to suit you well.  I liked listening to some of the inline 4 riders talking about you blasting by on that V twin.

I'd love to.  I made a good amount of money on the SV for pediatric cancer research in 2007...with stock forks and stock fuel injection.  If I could figure out a way that I could race it and get the same contingency again in 2008, I'd keep it.  It's a hard sell to myself, really.  But I'm just not a person of a lot of means.  I think I could do an eleven at Blackhawk on it on the right day.

What about you, Guy?  Steve's talkin'.  You have new carbon stuff for the year?

The new super singles seem like a lot of fun.  I've been contemplating motard and the super single seems like a good compromise.

I hope you keep your SV for another season. You looked comfortable on it. I hope you decide to ride it some. How long before Alex & John are old enough to ride?

I'm coming to Blackhawk/RA/Gateway 7 times next season due to sweet 08 scheduling here in GP!!!  I'm racing a CorsaSuperbikes DucShop/DucatiOmaha special 1000ss and an 848 next season so lots of classes. For the first time in years I'll be significantly lighter and in very good physical condition so I'm excited about racing this year.   CP

Alex will be 12 in April, John 10 in May.  Not sure what they want to do that way.  I think they recognize all this as being gone a lot and complaining...LOL!   :whine:

Gonna try Supertwins on the 650...( in addition to LW stuff)

according to Guy, getting passed by 1000 twin is not much different than getting passed by Ed's SB 650 :banghead:

we shall see... 8)

ultimately, Kyle and I are going to race each other no matter what classes we run in  :ahhh:

I've got everything for sale and will be getting 2 somethings. still not made up my mind on SV, the new buell, or the new KTM but i don't think the ktm will be out till mid to late summer. and then i may go back to a 1000. i seemed to do really well on the R1 when i was racing it. still up in the air, but i do plan on doing something different this year

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOOOHOOO! What a freaken ride"

I am sticking with LWSB, GT Lights and Thunderbike classes.  I still have not given up on my Ducati even after last year's disastererous season of crashes and mechanical issues.  We have gone through the motor in the off season and done a lot of little things to make sure it stays reliable for the 2008 season.  We also did a few upgrades that I'll probably need if I want to keep up with the front half of the expert LW field given the new batch of white plates we will be seeing in the class next year.   I'll probably run the Ducati in Supertwins at some of the events just for fun...

I also am thinking that I might just do a few track days this year to try and re-establish my rythm and the fun of riding again.  I think part of my problem last year was that I was fighting against the bike - rather than getting comfortable and relaxing I was always under pressure trying to run a pace beyond my comfort zone.

Next year should be a good season for the MW and GP region!
