Well I just got my SM-X Plus in the mail today and wanted to know what everyone thinks of them, like comfort while riding, crash protection, wear and tear from just riding, ect. Thank you all in advance,

pssst... next time ask what people think BEFORE you buy them!

I had no issues with mine... 2 seasons, 2 crashes before the seams started to split.  Only complaint I had was they where squeaky when I walked.

Hi Eddie,

Good boots, but get some A-star Magnesium Toe Sliders. $20.

If you're a toe dragger, you'll burn through the stock toe sliders in a couple of races and ruin the boots.

And, yes, you won't be sneaking up on anyone wearing these squeakers.

I've had two pairs now and have also went through some Sidi's and also some Oxtars as well as some different A* boots.

The smx-plus boots are my favorite for their ankle support and heel protection which unfortunately have had to use more than once.

1st pair the zippers broke. I sent them to A* and they repaired them at no cost and also paid for the return shipping. Even got stranded after the chain broke on my rat bike and walked over 6 miles in them. The soles held up good.

But now with my 2nd pair I also have the 2nd generation vortex pegs and they chewed up the soles pretty good but I sure loved the peg grip.

needed to take up a small stocked supply of toe sliders as PJ mentioned. and for the squeekeyness I just lifted up the ankle flaps on both sides and sprayed some white lithium greese on the squeekey spots and they've been quiet for over a year.

I've had two pairs, I still have two pairs and they are great.  I've had about 5-6 crashes in them and they're awesome.  I'll have to try the white lithium grease.

hmm I wonder if A* will fix the seems that are splitting... still make a good back up/rain boot.
