Any recomended places to stay in Daytona for the spring opener? My wife is taking our son and asked me to put this post up for hotel or camping recomendations so she can make a reservation now. Thanks!

Camping at the track was nice if have the equiment to do so. Last year there were some good deals on rooms when I got down there. I had some friends stay at the Comfort Inn at DeLand. It was a nice short drive in and out of the Speedway and there was nice places to eat without the crowd.

About how much do these rooms run per night?

I just looked it up and it was showing 95 a night at the Comfort Inn at Deland. There were rooms on the beach last year for 65 a night. It is nice to know that you have a room waiting for you but both times I have gone down there I have kicked my self for getting a room ahead of time. There were some rooms at Daytona for 100.00 and up if you do an Internet search. Good luck

you can camp with a tent for free at the track. All you need is your infield/paddock pass to get into the special area. The camping is located near the east banking, its called the orange specialty parking area on this map: http://www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com/seating%5Fcharts%5Fmaps/facility%5Fmap/

The camping is not advertised but is there. There is lots of space and hardly anyone ever camps there so you have plenty of privacy. I've camped there since 2006. PM me if you have any more questions about camping.

Don't even consider camping anywhere else...

Are you camping there this year? That is my only reservation about making the trip from Virginia to Flordia.
A semi quiet area close to the track where I can cook my food take a shower and pass the hell out!!

Camping at the track has been the way to go.  Infield pass, and that's all it takes.  It has been a great time hangin out with everyone as well, makes it a fun racin-roadtrip weekend.  We jet next door to the olive garden for dinner, cracker barrell for lunch, the gas station around the corner is where the local boyz hang out with the bikes, and halifax trauma center for mishaps is also right next door!  There are clean showers for campers and sort of clean restrooms.

thanks for the info if everything goes for parts and such camping will be the thing,  cot and air mattress.
