Well I took the new bike out Sunday for a toys for tots ride organized by extreme powersports in Columbus Ga. The ride was great. A ton of bikes showed up and everyone rode like mature adults. Now for the funny part.

Well as all ten of us sport bikers sat in the parking lot we watched all the HD and chopper guys come in. For about an hour we watched them admire each others big bikes with radio's and CB's and everything else you could think of. Well the ride started and a couple HD guys that had been admiring each others bikes where pulling road guard duty. For the most part they where acting ok. But ever once and a while you'd see one of the HD guys go flying up to the next intersection jump off his bike, throw a hand up and stop traffic. Well this one big guy on his big bike went flying up the rode stopped his bike tried to jump off but forgot that he was attached to the bike by his microphone cable. Then he realized he didn't put the side stand down. Well he tried to throw a leg back over but the bike was going down and his foot got hung up on one of the ten things he had attached to the bike and it knocked him on his azz in front of the entire group and the people in the car that he stopped. Well then he tried to pick the bike up but ended up having to call a couple guys over to help. So then we got to the second meeting point and got something to drink. Well all the HD guy shut there bikes off, turned the radios on and walked around for about 45 minutes. Well us sport bikers shut our bikes off grabbed our gear and walked around as well. Well when it was time to go we all got on our bikes and waited for the group to start moving. Well what should have taken 5 minutes end up taking about 15 because about a dozen HD guys bikes wouldn't start because they left there radio's on. I looked at one of the guys that was with us and I said "All that and for only $20,000" LOL.

But the rest of the ride went off without a problem and I put about a hundred miles on the bike.

Sounds like you had a good time.  A buddy got me to go on my first toy run  and rally last year.  We rode in on two gixxers, and as we arrived at the fairgrounds in Annapolis, i noticed cops everywhere, "must be helpin with the toys" I thought.  As we parked amidst some 2,500 other cruisers with everyone starin at us, I started to get this kinda sinkin feeling.  Helicopters circling overhead, k9 cars, tactical vans.  Then the ground started to rumble and some 40 Hells Angels wearing colors swarmed our two bikes. .. Yup, it was an outlaw biker rally...Now I dont mind a good fight, but I felt sorta like a leather covered chew toy at this point.  So I gave  my buddy the , "you really are stupid," look, and started prayin.  "Well Lord, once again, I'm on that same creek without that damn paddle again, any chance we can live through this?"  I'm stickin with the toys for tots drop off box at the gym.
