I am planing on racing at Homestead Dec. 1-2
What are the track amenities, such as:
When can we get in to the track?
Are the pits outside or under cover? Cost???
Any other info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Brian,

The Homestead experience is a good one. All day Saturday is dedicated to practice for a mere $75 and is best described as a track day. If you are well prepared you could get in 7 session on that day of course barring any red-flag situations. Sunday is dedicated to a full day of racing with some riders doing as many as 9 races.

Gate time is 0800 on Saturday and 0700 on Sunday-at least most weekends. There are multiple Nascar garages that are covered but you will share a garage with another racer. You will be placed in a garage at registration and there is no fee for the garages.

Cost is $25 gatge fee for Saturday and Sunday, $75 for practice on Saturday, and $55 for each race. Your schedule will most likely be, register and get your garage number, unload at the appropriate garage, tech at Garage #16 I think, and get ready for your first practice starting at around 0900. Sunday schedule will be a little easier with 1 morning pratice at 0800, rider's meeting at 0900 and races starting somewhere around 10:00.

Thanks for the info! I was concerned with any extra fees, like Daytona. As you know, you can go to Jennings GP and set up the day before. I guess that is not the case. Sounds like it's allot like Daytona. Saturday morning everyone trying to get in, set up your stuff in the garage, get tires, tech'd, run around with your head cut off to make your first practice. Am I spoiled with JGP's procedures? Is this schedule the norm for most tracks? See you there!

It's much better than Daytona and without the dirt and sand of Jennings.

Since the penguine school is there friday, you could get in and drop off your trailer during the day; but you would most likely not be able to set up in the garages until saturday unless you can get your garage assignment, and convince whoever is in that garage for the school to let you set up.

do your self one big favor,pre-enter and you will make the first practice no-problem.Its nothing like Daytona where you spend half you're life on the pre-enter line(which to this day makes no sense to me!!) Now if you post enter its a different story. You'll stand on line for sometime.Henry usually gets a big draw down here for that weekend and the Feb weekend as well.
