I like Daytona, i thank my lucky stars i have a few track right in my backyard and am super thankful we have CCS to put on these events. thank you thank you thank you. I wish racing were not so expensive, and i wish crashing my brains out from time to time did not hurt so much but these things come with the sport we love.
Everyone should have the oportunity to hold a Gsxr1000 wide open around the banking at least for a few laps in their lifetime. It is friggin intense (and i know im no pussy cause my data aquisition shows i had it pinned around 3-4 and to the stripe. Going from the 600 to the 1k there is an experience i am already looking forward to for March.

I had so much fun i shat myself!!

Leading GTU briefly, my new superbike motor is FAST..hung with the Team Stargel bike on the banking (at least in the draft) but the rider is a "bit" better than me. Dwire is right there too but was on a back up bike .

Passin Eric wood in the ASRA race (admitidly he had not raced in the rain in 4 years..)

Was able to hold off Taylor Knap in the ASRA superbike race for 4th.

Got a great start from row 2 of the CCS superbike sprint race, heading into the barrel turn. Too bad it was red flagged cause i didnt get that good of a start next time.

Made mistakes trying to pass Greenwood and Ryan Patterson and then dropped back behind Taylor Knap and pro Supermoto rider chris filmore to finish 6th.

Leading heavywt supersport on my stock motor r6 ahead Mr. Eric wood and shane Narbone on 750's. Yea, they beat me but it was fun as hell to finish 3rd.

Dwire and I singin in the rain. Londono is just behind on the right side of the pic.

Ya, Patrick Jacobson on his 125cc at road america got a 1:28 i believe....  Those damn cheaters on those big motor cheater bikes....  Wait, a 1:26 would qualify you for AMA superstock 1000cc class....  So, maybe it is not all about hp, maybe it helps to be able to ride a bike.....     Fast riders, are fast riders.

I liked Daytona, Im proud to have been able to be a part of its history.

He'd do a 1:28 at Road Am if he did NESBA Track Days there a few times! :kicknuts:

(Sorry Dustin, I couldn't resist. Congratulations on the Daytona wins!) :thumb:

Details....  I was close, within a minute or so.  Just trying to make a point about tiny little bikes being really fast on HP tracks...

Carry on.

I wouldnt believe a 125 could do those times with any size rider...  Those are great times on a bike with what, 40hp?  That track has 3 very long, high speed straights.  1000's usually do very well there, comparable to Daytona.....

Daytona, 1981 or 2, Kevin Schwantz borrows a friends stock FJ 600, the Yoshimura boys put a set of tires on it for him.
After the start, he was going through the Dog Leg when everybody else is going through the East Horseshoe.
By the time Schwantz reached the Trioval, the front pack of 6 was on him, every lap they would catch him at the Trioval, horse power helped catch up, but not on the final lap.
My friend got to keep the tires.
That's one of those Kevin Schwantz stories.

One of my favorite racetracks.

LOL, Ok Iam a fan do I get a free T-Shirt or something. It was sad you were hurt and could not make Daytona this year. I am sure it would have been another champion ship for you but at least your competition had an opportunity to win one this year.
