This is interesting that they say it was done for safety reasons. During my novice year in 2003 I was hit for the same thing by CCS during post race tech on my gsxr 750 and was fined $50 by CCS because they said it was a safety issue  due to the fact that the crankcase vent needs to be vented to the airbox in case the motor blows.

The reasoning is that supposedly there is an issue with the counter shaft seal blowing at sustained high revs.  Other teams have other ways of dealing with it that don't involve routing to the pair valve which definitely increases power.

And doesn't it feel normal that the AMA told them it was ok but then tries to hit them up for it as breaking the rules?  I think that's too bad that they are that way.  Nothing changes even though they change people.
