currently i'm running with a stock pipe on my xb9r.  I've seen some big $ pipes out there around 600-700 but don't really want to spend that much.  Jardine has a system for around 300. was just wondering from the Buell'ers out there what they've found and made power with....is the race ecu really worth it, or needed to pickup torque and horses with an aftermarket pipe. I'm new to the Buell and just looking for the best for my money. thanks

What are you doing with a Buell?

Are you running your Honda this weekend?  I saw the CMRA results and it looks like you were going pretty good at Hallett a few weeks ago.

Jack, I wish that was me. I haven't run since Road America in July...that didn't turn out so good. (see "medic air lift from Road America") according to ccs there's another guy in Ok that has the same name, it's probably him your thinking of.

If you're running an aftermarket exhaust you definitely need the race ECM, or a remap of your stock ECM.  You also need a different air filter to open up the other end.  Otherwise you'll be running way to lean.  The Jardine is a good track pipe with a better top end than midrange.  It will need to be repacked regularly though.  The big power pulses from the single pin crank are kind of hard on the packing and rivets!!  Any more questions give me a holler!!

I've heard the same thing about the Jardine.
There's a well done, objective exhaust shootout at www.americansportbike.com that you might find helpful.

Yes, there is a John Morrow from Tulsa, Ok that runs a 600rr and when I saw the post, I thought it was that John Morrow.  Sorry to hear about your accident, and good luck with setting up the Buell.

I like the Buell race kit exhaust. It's no longer being produced, but you should be able to find one on eBay. A bit on the heavy side, but extremely durable and makes good peak power.

You'll need the race kit ECM, or better yet, buy a programmable one from Henry Duga (Buell race manager).
