Does anyone believe Buell will introduce a race only version of the new 1125R. Regards Dan

I don't think there will be one right away. 

If you're talking about a dedicated 1200cc Superbike, that would take 'factory' support and since the mothership (as of last I heard) isn't too keen on road racing.. 

However, if enough privateers take up the challenge (and CCS/ASRA etc. allow it in whatever classes  ::)) have success to some degree.. You may start to see more 'race only' bits.. followed at some point - and this really means that H-D has decided to go road racing - a real dedicated race machine, with the required street version sold at the dealers.  Then you know former privateer racer E. Buell will leap at the chance.. Might not even be the 'test bed' machine that was the XBRR (although it has had a good amount of success around the world so far.. just nothing in a major arena) but would most likely be a true race effort.

I'm not holding my breath for a factory race team, at least not yet.. let's see what the rumint from East Troy is on that one.. But I'll bet there are a bunch of folks that will snap up the new machine and start racing them as soon as they know they'll be legal for .. well.. whatever class.. I don't think Buell ever lost his love of racing, I mean look how much support his company pours into contingencies.. I just think he's a good enough business man now to know that he can't bite the hand that feeds him and pour the millions (that he doesn't have) into a factory race team. 

(of course, if any of you have the $350,000.00 for a supersport machine.. then I'm sure you could get something built easily enough, just don't expect a cheapo  bike like that to compete easily with the AMA/WSBK Factory crowd)
