Helmet check

Anyone know how to get a helmet checked for damage after a crash?  Someone said you can send them off somewhere to get checked?

You can send them to the manufacturer to get it checked ( Aria, Shoei, whomever).

Suomy.  I got on the wesite but couldn't find anything.  Hoping someone else had done it and knew where to go.

If it's questionable whether or not it's damaged, why even bother? Buy a new one.

When you pull the liner out of  it should be black on the inside of the helmet. Look for cracks of white or a spot where the foam is dented in. Give Rob a call a Lithium. He has been doing a lot with Suomy. 1-800-894-7190 Hope the arm healing well.

IMO if it hits the ground its done... your results may vary.

If its trashed I'll toss it.  But if its checked and still good then why spend $ on a new one.  I figure its at least worth looking at.

Not sure how Suomy handles it, but I thought my Shoei was trashed years ago and sent it back. Came back with no issues found, so I continued to use it for a couple more years.

I've heard of some manufacturer(s) X-Raying helmets to check for damage not obvious to external inspection.

I've also heard that Arai won't send it back to you if it is trashed b/c they don't want you to keep wearing it.  Or they cut the straps and send it back to you.  Or something to make it unusable.
