Can I get away with -1 front at RA ... 2006/1000gsxr

I am one down in the front on my 2006 1K.  My chain is too short to go up one, to stock.  Can I get away with this, or should I add a link and make it stock?

no your going to need 2 down and 15 up, that way I have a advantage

On my R1 last year i ran down one in the front and it worked nicely
