Things I learned this weekend.

1) Losing the front end in T-4 at BHF is bad.
2) Tumbling into a tire wall hurts.
3) It really is not so painful to re-locate your own finger if you do it immediately after it is dislocated; however, the next day it will swell up like a small sausage and hurt like #e!!.

Thanks to the corner workers for making sure I was OK and helping get the bike loaded onto the crash truck!  Also, many thanks to my MotoGP leathers, Bohn back protector and Arai helmet for absorbing the worst of the slide and then impact into the wall.  I am very happy to have walked away from this crash.

Hopefully I put on a good show for the crowd.  I think my sliding double back flip dismount directly into the tire wall should have ensured a score of at least 9.0.

I'll have the bike repaired for Road America, it looks like beyond needing a replacement left rearset and a clutch lever it is pretty much cosmetic damage...

See you soon!

All in all it was a great weekend at Blackhawk! (I know, I know, the guys who had major crash damage don't want to hear that!)

Friday Track Day sounds like another story though - Mark Storck broken collar bone, Rob Sobotka broken leg are the two I know about.

Several off track excursions on Sat and Sunday but I don't think anyone had more than bumps and bruises!

Good, competitive racing all the way around with several lead changes in a lot of the races.  Nice to see victories going to a number of different people.

I'll add to that. I learned that a triumph can drive itself without a rider from turn 4 through 5. If only it could have turned on it's own. I'll have to teach it how to turn. It was a great race up 'til that point. Thanks to the people who helped me get it out of the mud and onto the crash truck and also to Ron and Alfredo for getting the bike home.

Sorry to see your bike come in on the crash truck with the front wheel detached from the rest of the bike.  I heard the corner workers talking about how it did a pretty good job of clearing the tire wall after it hit!

You were leading the race when you went down, right?

Glad you didn't get beat up as bad as the bike.
