Unlimited GP? on ASRA weekends

I was told when i went to collect my purse money for the Unlimited GP race that no purses in the Unlimted GP are paid on ASRA event weekends.  Whats up with that.  They sure didn't mind taking my 75 bucks.  Why charge 75 if its just another sprint race.  Did i miss something somewhere in the rulebook or a posting that says they wouldnt pay on those particular weekends.

And if it is written in stone somewhere, WHY?  Its not like  they dont have the funds  to have a payout, especially on a ASRA weekend.

If it's a paid race, it will say $1000 Unlimited GP on the schedule.  If not, it will just say Unlimited GP or Unlimited GP (trophy Dash).  Not sure about the $75 part but you made an excellent point!

Yeah, I won't do ULGP on those weekends.  Just a points race.

On those piticular race weekends it should be just like adding another race they shouldnt charge extra for that if they are not paying ya????? that dont seem right.

maybe @ registration they did it on accident.

Hey Les,
If you look at your credit card statement you were only charged 40.00 for the UL GP race, not the normal 75.00 as you stated. There is no payout on ASRA weekends this year so the UL GP races are only 40.00 so I had changed it on your pre-entry before I charged it. You should have seen that on your pink copy also when you picked it up at registration.

Just thought I'd ask......why was it decided that there would be no purse for ULGP on ASRA weekends?

Aren't there bigger grids on those weekends? Wouldn't that help the purse and potential entry numbers?

Looking at the grid sizes from Summit, 18 AM and 19 expert if you add the extra $35 each entry it would have cost CCS about $350 extra to pay a purse in each class assuming the classes stayed the same size. I don't think that would break CCS considering the huge turnout that weekend.

And - there may have been more entries if it was purse paying.
