 :blahblah:
New to the Forum, new to MARRC.
My name is Dorsey, and I am a track-aholic.
A few Saturdays ago, my first trip to a road race course, I had the pleasure to meet Roger and take the corner worker class.  Roger teaches corner worker class at Summit point.  Roger is a great instructor and the track is a blast!  I have worked corners 3,7, and 8.  Everyone at Summit Point has been very accommodating.

and many thanks to you for joining up as a corner worker...without you - and everyone else that corner works - we wouldn't be able to do our thing!  :thumb:

Kumi,
YES I AM!!!!
Thanks for the reply, and all your help on the track.
I will head up from the Hamptonroads area Friday.  I will stop just outside of DC to visit with some "Run to the Wall" riders who will be camping out.
I should be at Slippery Pt by Saturday AM for sure.  Lets hop the wind dies down a little.

Many welcomes.  It became obvious to me this past weekend that without racers, we would not be able to cornerwork!

Now that right there's funny, I don't care who ya are!
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Being new to the track environment, a revelation came to me this past weekend.
I took some time to consider all the work and effort that had been done in the past to bring road racing at Summit Point to the place it is now.  I mean all the organizing, team work, trial and error that has been done in the past that has allowed this show to develop to the point it is today.  Maybe it is just because I am at the point in my corner-work where I am sensing the coordination that must go to make the track "clear green"  What ever the case it still impresses me to see so many people at on event with a similar passion.

TEE HEE - You've been bitten by the "bug" :)  No matter how hot/cold/rainy/windy/tornadolike it gets out there, and as much as I HATE getting up early on the weekends, I wouldn't miss a day of corner working at summit for the world... 8)

Sorry it's a little late but welcome Dorsey to the MARRC family.  You've been blessed with the "sickness".   Hope you enjoy.  Hope to see you out there this weekend as well for WERA.

In regards to all the co-ordination you spoke of you are right.  I can't imagine what it must have been when MARRC was in its infancy and how long it took to get things worked out just right.  It is amazing how well the whole crew works together though.  It is sweet though to hand over to CCS a clear and green course before they even ask.

By the way this is Mike I was the voice in "Control" last race weekend and will be the voice this coming weekend as well.  Hope to see you there.

Excelent! Now I can match a name to one of the voices in my head.

"One of the voices in your head"

Might not want to let us know how many voices there actually are up there in your head.    :lmao:

When you are coming out next?  We have a track day on July 6th and then CCS on the 7th and 8th.

Personally I'm looking forward to getting back out on the track in one capacity or another.  I've had my fill of Control for awhile.
