If anyone was in this race after the red flag on the restart race I was rearended on turn 1 after the 2nd or 3rd lap. By pictures I think it was number 98. I am trying to figure out what happened. I was in 3rd place and he hit me up the left side braking my chain guard and adding some killer white racing stripes. I was lucky enough to keep the bike up but then 2 turns later I saw a depre flag and thought it was at me(since I was just hit and very shaken up) so I rode off and checked my bike and when I looked back up the corner guys are pointing me back out on track. I managed to get back up to 9th.

I don't know about that lap.  But turn 1 before the red flag was very scary.  I was on the inside about two or three back.  The guy in front of me slowed quick.  I saw his rear wheel disappear under my front fairing.  Then I saw a front wheel in front underneath me on the inside.  I was almost on the curb, so it had to be close.  I thought we were done for.  Then as we drove out of turn 1, the bike in front of me went into a huge tank slapper and almost high sided.  He somehow landed back on the bike and never let off the throttle.  I was glad he saved it or that would have hurt.

I hope the rider on the bike from that red flag is ok.  I never heard anything about it as it was late in the day.

You crashed in bus stop in that race and angrily chucked pieces off of the track? I think my better half and my friends lady got a couple pics of you.

That would have been me.  I wasn't throwing in anger, I was throwing them frantically.  After two scary starts in that race, I didn't want to have anyone need to go through that again.  I thought I could get up and ride, but I snapped my left clipon off.  When I realized my bike wouldn't run the race and my visor was missing, I was done.  I just wanted to get as many big parts out of the way and was just tossing them over the wall hoping to keep the race running.

If you got any pics I'd like to get them.

I had the hammer down coming through the carousel.  I was gaining quick through the kink before the bus stop.  The inside line got tight.  I got to far right and as soon as I touched the grass, I of course went down hard tucking the front.  I got some fiberglass work to do.  The glass looks like when I got it from you again Jeff!  I lost the fuel cutoff relay somehow and couldn't restart the bike.  A windscreen and a bar end and I'll be back in business.  Wasn't bad at all.

It was my first weekend of racing ever.  I was nervous as could be.  I came away with lots of experiences and two top tens.  So I'm not upset at all.  I found I need to lose some weight and get a newer bike.   :lmao:

glad you are ok.  I saw you sliding right next to me coming into the bus stop.  I debated on whether to gas it out hope you didn't catch my rear or check up.  Checked up and you slid right past, close but no contact.  Rough weekend, eh?  I think I saw you in T1 in GTU too.  Anyway, keep with it and I'm sure things will get better.  I had a rough patch when I started last year too.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOOOHOOO! What a freaken ride"

Sorry Jason, I probably won't be there.  I have a family graduation party that weekend.  I'll meet you someday.  Maybe when we're old enough to run F40. ::)  Seems we're always at the track on opposite weekends.

Thanks for not running me over Super Spud!  I think I actually saw you last year at the Team Chicago School?  That cold April day was my first time on a track and first on a bike in 12 yrs.  I did a couple of track days and realized I had a lot to learn before I went to race.  So this weekend was my first race.  I did run off in GTU.  I hit the brakes and couldn't get the rear end back down.  So I ran off.  I ended up so deep back there, that I couldn't get out myself.  There are really deep ruts in the grass and it was soft and mushy.  It took so much energy to pull the bike back to solid ground, I couldn't ride another 20 mins.

I don't know how many more races I'll do this year.  But I loved it and will be back.  Hopefully with a newer bike and less ballast around my waist.   :thumb:

Thanks Mike, heal up quick and let me know if you need any help with the bikes.

Yeah, I did the Team Chicago school last year and the year before, then finally got around to getting my license and racing last year.  I think at the time I started I had only done about 3 or 4 track days.  One can  pick up a lot from racers though, I know I have and continue to.
