I've done plenty of track days.  I've even done one at BHF this year.  Should I really go to Friday practice?  What does it cost?  What will I gain by going or lose by not going?  Is it just open track all day, or do they break it up some how?  Can you come for just the afternoon and does that change the price?

$95 no matter when you show up I believe. Usually split up in groups, depending on how many are there. I believe you can never practice too much. Not a dig on Track Day guys, cause there are plenty that could smoke me, but the Friday practice is not like a Track Day. I'll be there by 7:00am tomorrow.

greg you gotta go!- mix it up with the guys you'll race against, get passed  a little more aggressive, get the feel for the track in more than 2 morning practice sessions... i usually show up @ lunch time and if i remember right they do discount for 1/2 day ....we'll see. good luck! :thumb:

If you have never been to race practice I would go. The speeds are usually a little bit higher and the passing is definitely closer to kinda get you prep'd for Saturday racing schedule. Trackdays are fun if you are working on particular things and one thing about race practice is that you have an advantage over guys that didn't go, you are better prepared mentally for Saturday.

Fridays at Blackhawk are the cheapest track time that you can find.  You should definitely go.

I wouldn't do the half day.  last year they started at 2:00.
