I say once you get over 85 hp. We changed ours at that hp. But it was a must when we had 98hp.

I went with larger rim so I can use the takeoffs from my buddies that run middle weight classes that think a tire is worn out after two sprint races, In LW I call them scrubbed in! Plus I need all the help I can get in the traction department. Weight did not seem to bother me since my bike was a tank last year in SS.  I have already shaved about 25 pounds of rotational weight and another 10 in sprung weight so an extra few ounces I am used to. Turning... I'm going to learn how to do that sometime, I have an anchor I pitch out now and the bike falls into where I am going   Plus I was told bigger is better!
