Just gotta say how impressed i am after meeting and watching this young racer today at the 66th annual running of the race! He qualified  and started in the 9th row, amongst some of the fastest anywhere, most have many more years experience there, but Scotty doesn't care,he came to show the racer that he is- one to be deservedly noticed !I met his parents earlier in the day -some very nice people

NOW!!! i waited all day to see if he would fare well, not expecting a win or anything, but on lap 59 or 60 ,only 6 laps from the end, his number showed on the (position/placing towers )in 15th place-DAYM! he was running the #106 and the tower only shows the last 2 digits, so seeing the 06 was Gigantic! a couple laps later he blew his engine, one which had moved him foward 12 or 13 positions during the race- He ought to be very proud to know he will need to be considered a real threat in the future! Just thought i'd let you all know!DAYM!

Yeah, Scotty wanted to do well.  He did, but the good fortune of Daytona didn't shine on him.  Not his fault.  Was an excellent ride.

Scotty did all us Midwesterners very Proud!!!  We were watching him on the live timing and scoring throughout the entire race and had an absolute blast.
When SpeedTV showed him pushing the bike off with just 6 laps to go we were devasted for him...
I'm sure he will regroup and go into the next event with even more confidence.

Good Job Scotty!!
Looking forward to Barber!

I think I started 33rd - got a good start and jumped past the row in front of me.... I started putting together some really good laps and was about three laps from my pit stop when I lowsided in turn six, I managed to get the bike picked up and started charging - only losing three positions - I made the three spots back up before I was given my pit IN board.... I ended up making it all the way up to 12th before my second pit stop - got onto the track with a new tire and more fuel - worked my way back up to 14th and was making ground on the guys in front of me - with five laps to go - the motor let loose and started smoking.... SO close - but yet - so far.... I learned alot - ran my fastest lap of the week (1:46.522) - and showed myself that I can be competitive with some of the fastest guys around - in a really deep field - on one of the craziest tracks I have ever ridden - and that all the training I have been doing is really paying off...... So all in all - Daytona was a great learning experience for me - but unfortunately I am going into round two with ZERO points..... I just can't wait to get to Barber and get some good finishes.................. I also have to say that none of his would have been possible without my team/crew - the guys at Safety First are great - and I really have to thank them for giving me the chance to do this.....

Scotty, you fell down in the 200?

You ran a 2:06 on that lap...LOL!  I was waiting for you to come in, and I think Bobby went in a lap after or something.  I thought you just went off the track.

I just want to say thanks to everyone that is pulling for me. It means alot to know that I have people behind me. And Benny - you were supposed to follow me through the corner - not try to out break me! You'll be back :)
