Let's see how good I am at sounding like I know what I'm talking about.  This is the internet after all...

If you are convinced that you got things back together correctly, you can always check wires in the harness by running a substitute wire.  You can connect a spare wire in place of one in the harness.  If have juice with the substitute wire, you have a harness problem.

Once you get that sorted out Ed and the others are right, of course, about the wires.  Get thee to Radio Shack and buy 1/2 Watt, 100 ohm resistor, part # 271-1108.  It will cost you more in gas money than the part costs.  Solder it somewhere between ground and O/R (orange/red) wire coming out of CDI box.  You don't have to cut the wires, just tap onto them and solder.

There...now I've said a lot and not really added much to the conversation.  At work they pay me for that.   :biggrin:
