Buell just announced a $1,000,000 contingency program for 2007, with more than $300,000 up for grabs for ASRA and CCS racers.

The Buell contingency program will reward Buell racers competing on all XBRR and 2003 and newer XB model motorcycles. Cash contingencies will be posted in the following classes at every ASRA Pro Series national and CCS regional event; there is no minimum grid requirement.

Complete details of the 2007 Buell contingency program, including the racer registration form, are available at buell.com in the Racing Support Section.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOOOHOOO! What a freaken ride"

Last year Buell had the best contingency program in ASRA and CCS.  I didn't think it would get any better, but it did.  They have increased the stakes and added a class.  The bikes are fun to ride and the company is great to be associated with.  BTW,  when your at the track on a Buell,  you really do feel like you're associated with the company.

Darn!  You beat me to it!  I've been waiting for the Buell PR guy to get back with me with an "official" statement from them.

It really is awesome.

BTW .. other contingency requirements & awards are posted on the CCS website now.  (PDF file)

How many other companies pay out on four year old bikes?
Thank you, Buell!

61ex: You can run whatever tire you want. Personally though, I think the Pirellis suit the XB chassis really well.

Court Jester: Actually Buell pays amateurs in two classes since you can run ASRA Thunderbike as an Am. I don't think too many other manufacturers pay amateurs, do they?

TrophyGal: Sorry, I sent you the "official" statement just before I posted on the forum. Just wanted to share the good news.

Catman: Yep, you just gotta love the sound of a made-in-Milwaukee twin at full honk on a racetrack. Especially sweet coming down into the tree lined entrance of T5 at Road America, then accelerating up the hill...

Dave and Don, great racing with you this year. See you guys out there next season!

Note...

Thunderbike has been eliminated in the Great Plains region.  So, the combined MW/GP region events at MAM and GIR will not have Thunderbike, or 125GP or HWSB as they have been eliminated also.
