I hate to ask a tire question cause i've seen the hate and discontent is causes, but anyways here goes.

Seriously thinking about switching from the Supercorsa's to the 208Gp/209Gp. Anybody got any feedback who has made the switch from the Pirelli's to the Dunlops. Mainly cause it seems like the dunlops are more cost effective.  I didn't get to race any in 06 due to work related injury so I never got to try out the supercorsa pros or any other tires for that matter.  So the only tires i'm familiar with racing on are the older supercorsa's.
Thanks guys & gals

Well, I'll take a stab.  Tires are the most personal thing on your bike, one guy could go out and say they're the greatest ever... another complete junk.  Also, you need to look at the whole picture, support, contingency, etc.  I haven't ridden Dunlop DOTs in several years, but the brand as a whole is excellent and the support top notch.  The 209s I used several years ago were the UK version and were very good.  Very predictable, which is a characteristic of all Dunlops I've ever used.

The UK made 208GP-As I ran for a while were awesome for me. No matter what I did the Pirellis never had the life expectancy of Duns or Mich., and their carcass is just not for me. I'm used to front and rear end getting squirrely, from dirt biking, but the mushy Pirelli sidewalls just seem to lend themselves to lots of smearing in corners-that's my take.

If you're not committed to a brand yet, as 'zilla mentioned, check contingency/price stuff. The Bridgestone tires and their program were getting lots of great reviews in the paddock last year.
