What a kick in the nuts...

Okay. a guy in Princeton, Indiana (tom lagrange) agreed to sponsor me for next race season. Said if I brought the R1 in he would port the heads and go some other stuff. All I had to do was pay for the parts.
I dropped the bike off in Augest and it should have been done by mid September. Well it wasn't done. They put it back together and started it up and busted one of the buckets.
October came and went and it still wasn't done. November went by, still no luck. December went by and still nothing.
I called his shop today to see how it was going. He said he was ready for me to come get it. I said "cool. So it's up and running" he said "no, I'm done working on it. You can come get it and get it out of here"
So now I've got a jacked up R1 that ran when I took it into him that is in pieces now.
Any input on how to handle it would be great. I was thinking a ski mask and a ball bat. But thought that might be too obvious. Then I was thinking maybe a few gallons of gas pored over him and a match. But then I thought I might start with having it fixed and taking him to small claims court for the cost of the repairs.
Any thoughts??? I really like the gas idea right now though. That's really got me feeling all warm and fuzzy.

First off, it's not personal, it's business.

You dropped off the bike in good faith, he broke it, so it should be repaired in good faith.
Obviously, he won't repair it now, and to be honest, I would be suspect of him doing a good job for you at this point in time.
Pick up the bike, have the work done by someone reputable, and you can either hassle with small claims court, or chalk it up to experience.

You will want at least some basic advice from legal counsel should you choose to sue.

Sucks that you got screwed.  Now let's not have it happen twice in a row, shall we?  708-946-1440 is the number of Valley Racing, a shop near Chicago's south side.  Valley engines have won races and championships at just about every level and dicipline of motorcycle racing.  Jason Temme, Brian Hall, and many others have used Valley with great success.  You'll have to pay them, but you'll get EXACTLY what you pay for.  Valley gets my highest recommendation for sure!

well he called while nicholas was in wrestling prac. and left a voice mail. he said that he would go ahead and put it back together and get it running. said he had 2 parts to order and that he would get it running again.

i assume he talked to his attorney (who happens to be his son) and he told him he was up shit creek. best i can figure anyway. so i'll let him fix it and as long as it runs as it should, i'll carry his stickers and honor my end of the deal. we'll see how it turns out.
i'm going over every inch of it and picking up the equipment needed to do it myself later. but i did write down the number and may give them a ring in the mean time. i got brian's two bikes so i'll have the chance to see first hand what kind of job they do
