ABS on a racebike?

I am seeing more and more bikes offering ABS as an option.  Not necessarily linked brakes, but at least ABS on the front.  Anyone have any experience with this on the track?  Or know what pro's think about it?  I would guess that it's not much use, since the way you brake a race bike is probably well past what the ABS brain thinks is the limit.  That said, guess I'm wondering if anyone knows anything different?

That's a good question, I would like to know too.  With an ABS equipped SV for 07', I wonder if anyone will be trying to run one in LW's.  It might be helpful in the wet.

Back in the eighties, it was apparently tested on 500cc GP bikes, but the riders could execute better without it.

I've seen pro riders that intentionally skid the front with the brake to get a bike turn ridiculously fast.

Some riders skid the rear tire to back it in.

All stuff that might be limited by ABS.  Might be neat in the rain where traction varies from ok to none.

I believe Nate runs abs on his ss bike, hard to believe it watching him slide that monster around but thats what he said, still has heated grips too

 My'96 R1100GS had the ABS and I loved it for racing. Too much tech. though, IMO, in case of a failure, and the unit itself weighed around 15-20 pounds. Brembo system w/Bosch ABS.
