Hey Guys,
I am considering running with ccs next year and had some questions. I am a current racer with wera and have managed to get a couple of regional championships in the past.
I would like to race at daytona in the spring and would like to know what to expect from  such a fast track?
I currently have one of Ty Howard's gsxr 600's and I am unsure of how to set up the bike for this track. Other than steel valve stems what else should be taken into consideration? What gearing is typical? I currently run bridgestone tires, are they any good at this track?

Thanks,
vtrwillie

I have an 06 GSX-R 600 and ran 15/42 but could/should have run 16/42.  Although at WOT in 6th gear I was hitting 171 at 15k RPM and it was holding.  The RPM's weren't climbing at all.

With your history and current bike you should do fine.  The place is intimidating at first, but once you get comfortable it really isn't any different.  Other than the force sticking me to the tank, I hardly notice the banking anymore.  It is something you should do once in a lifetime at least.  I'd suggest waiting until the ROC if you only go once, the spring event is on the AMA track and it is awful (at least IMO).  Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

Is there a link to see the difference between the AMA course & the ROC course?

As far as bike set up is there anything I ma over looking?

Thanks again!
