Does CCS Florida recognize Fasttrax license?
I'm several year expert with Fasttrax, but have only raced or plan to race Vintage classes. I know CCS recognizes WERA, but I let my WERA license expire and don't think I'll do any WERA next year. I'm planning on a couple of races with Fasttrax and probably 4-5 Vintage races with CCS Florida.

Should.  Call Henry Degow (sp?) to be sure.

Fasttrax isn't listed anywhere as accredited race school. I didn't have any trouble getting my WERA license, but that is mostly due to racing with a lot of WERA racers and officials up North.
I will give him a call.
Thx

If you've got a WERA license, then you should be able to get a CCS license.

I remember that Fasttrax used to be affiliated with CCS, but now it's WERA?  That true?  Might just be a matter of buying your CCS license then from Henry.

He'll give you a heads up.  Good guy.

If you had a Fasttrax/CCS license in 04 then not a problem at all; we would have you in our database. If you have had a WERA license within the last 3 years not a problem at all just bring it with you, you will be able to get licensed at the track or send the info into the office. If it has been longer or you cannot find it then you would need to call me at the office and we would need to get this handled prior to the event.

With the death of Bob Stanley the certification of Fasttrax was put into limbo, I will correct that for the 07 season.

Thanks, Dave.
Just to clarify things..... I never said Fasttrax was affiliated with WERA.

When I started racing Fasttrax in '97(?) I met couple of WERA officials that raced Fasttrax. Shortly after, I started working with Fasttrax schools and race series.
I think in '99 my wife and I started to work at both clubs. We worked and raced Fasttrax and WERA (at Nelson Ledges) till we moved to Florida January of '04.
I haven't raced since the end of '03.... Life just got in the way of fun...
Definitely coming back this year with 2 bikes for Lt and HW Vintage in CCS FL and at least a couple of Fasttrax sprints and endurance.
We were pretty close to Stanleys and the rest of Fasttrax crew and come to Ohio often to visit family and friends. Might as well race when we're up there.

I'm glad. I thought Bob's school was excelent 2 day program. Fasttrax has a "core" group of great instructors that really care about the program and new racers they turn out.

Was Bob Stanley the head honcho over at Fasttraxx?  If so, I met him and he worked with me to make my one weekend with Fasttraxx very fun.

When did he pass?  Any details?

Nevermind, just found the info on him.  Yep, it's the guy I thought it was.  What a great guy.  Very concerned for the racers and keeping the organization a sensible and small one.

Bob was a great guy. Very charizmatic and easy going. He ran Fasttax with his wife Carol and a small group of very dedicated locals.
What made Fasttrax unique is his approach to local club racing. He never claimed to be another CCS or WERA, just a small "family type" race club. They really made you feel like you're part of the family.
I believe they named a corner at Nelson Ledges in his memory.
