WTB track bike suitable for NOOB

Hello,
   I am looking to buy a track bike for next season suitable for a beginning track day rider. I am thinking along the lines of EX 500 or SV 650, but am open to your suggestions. I guess it would be helpful if I provided a price range... of course it depends on the bike and spec, but definitely under $5000. I am really looking for that $2000 ex-racer that is totally dialed and has a few seasons left on it.

Thank you all for your responses. This past weekend a friend and I ended up buying two bikes. He bought a EX 500 that was offered in the "for sale" section, and I ended up choosing the supermoto route. As a offroad racer I like the ergos, familiar maintenance and crash durability. Again, thanks for the info as well as bike offers.
