I recently installed a set of Hotbodies plastics on my 600rr and after test riding it I noticed  a quarter size burn mark onthe lower. and the paint started to chip. Is this going make problems for me? Is there heat shield material to install for the headers? Will my fiberglass catch fire? I'm new and don't know.

I would add some self adhesive heat shield to the area on teh bodywork thats burning. Most auto speed shops and motorcycle parts stores either should have it or can get it.

thanks for the advice on the heat shield. Will the bike be alright w/o it for one weekend? It is friday night and everyone is closed. Would foil tape from the hardware store suffice.

I have used high temp RTV to prevent burned bodywork. Lay about 1/4 to 3/8 inch beads about 3/4 to 1 inch apart. Replace as needed.
