Paul & Dave, while that might be the case for GTL, I know that GTO is bigger than I've seen it in 3-4 years...

I think that simplifying the structure, reducing the races and making them more of a "featured" item would be beneficial to grid size and the sport.  I ran 4 classes on the same bike this weekend, and will run 6 classes at Gingerman.  That's pretty crazy in my opinion.  I guess I would like to run maybe 2 feature classes with more laps, than 6 classes with little distinction between them and fewer people.

When we've had PACKED grids at BHF (wegman weekend, I think in 04 or maybe 03.  A WERA and AMA event were canceled due to a hurricane if I recall correctly and everyone showed up), we had grids of like 40+ bikes.  Dicing your ASS off to get 25th place was an absolute BLAST.  It would have only been more fun if the race had been twice as long.

I don't know though... Obviously if there are fewer classes, the fees will increase.  Will that bring more people out?  I doubt if it would bring the new racer out, but it would definitely keep the existing racers and probably convert some of the other regional club guys over to run with us...

Make the GT classes the premier events of the two days, add some cost and some purse. Make it more of a show. Hype it up. Have a podium celebration. Let the top 3 talk on the mic. Special trophies, etc. I think that could work.

The Trackaddix GP has several money races...  I know having a few bucks to go for makes me ride a bit faster!

Why can't CCS have more money races? What's the big deal? I'd be willing to pay an extra 20 bucks per race to have a chance at winning some money. I think it would make the racing more exciting and more competitive inside each others heads. I could also keep racers going if they are low on cash.

What's your thoughts or comments on this?
