racer on tight budget here with some lodging/camping questions

So can we campt at the track? if not, whats the closest campsite? Any price ideas? let me know!
Or maybe should I just get a cheap hotel not so close to the track.
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

I've been looking into hotels, $150-250 per night depending on where you stay.  Nothing is cheap during biketoberfest.

you have to clear the pit by 6pm usually.  there is some camping in the infield, but I imagine they charge and I'm not sure if you can stay there w/out a motorhome.

I've herd from a couple of people that since Biketober Fest is not as popular as Bike Week the thing to due is wait till 2 weeks before and start low balling hotels. Might be worth a try. -Snack

When  were at bike week there were a lot of cheaper hotels. Not the Ritz Carlton but it is a bed with a roof. You could always stay at Walmart it seems to work for Super Dave.
