Whats to tallest profiled tires available in 160's?

RIght now I've got michelins.  I'm looking for a brand that offers a tall tire, is michelin it or is there another one out there?

I like the way a taller tire feels going into a corner and leaned over.  I've been using the tall power races and was wondering how they compared to others.

You could get a 170 with the same aspect ratio, and it should be taller.  Or you could adjust your rear ride height, add preload to the rear, get a heavier rear spring, drop the front end, reduce front preload...

It's purely chassis geometry.

Hes right, you should dial your susp to the tires. Not, get dif tires to change susp (geometry)!

I've already done that and was thinking that tires could do more.  Maybe its mental but with the taller tire I feel more "stick" in a corner.  I thought it was becuase you  had a bigger contact patch but I could be confused.  And I don't really ride fast enough for it to matter I'm was just thinking of trying something new and wanted opinions.

A taller tire would only be a taller tire at the side wall.  But if a tire gets too tall, it isn't going to have the same stability under the load of cornering, unless it has a really substantial cording set up like a 16.5 tire.

Your really good race rubber is going to be build in a range of aspectratios.

I'm with Tim...What springs are in it now?

I don't know exactly whats in the front, but it feels really good.  The rear has a 130lb Ohlins.   It's still heavy but way better than what  was in it.    With ride height, I have a hard enough time holding the bike up to launch as it is so I have to find a compromise.  I was thinking that the taller profile tire would help with steering in quicker without raising the bike anymore.

Well, a taller aspect ratio rear is going to dramatically bring the back up.  If you have a 160/60 and you go to a 160/70, your gonna increase the sidewall by 16mm, so, it WILL raise the back.

Sounds like there are some conflicting issues with what your saying. 

Almost sounds like there might be an issue up front that you're chasing from the rear.

Have you tried a 180/55, i use them on my F2 w an F3 rim, it works great!
