I was running 1:41 flat there last year on my SV and it felt to be about the same pace as a 1:22 or so at Blackhawk. That's good enough for a midpack finish in most of the Lightweight classes.

Just heard back from 4 & 6.  It appears that my sv is a little tired (55-56 hp on their dyno).  Jim suspected a plugged air filter or slides not traveling all the way up.  I'll give the bike a good tune up and rip it appart this winter.

Hawk - the back straight at Auto S. is definately longer or a least feels that way.  Grasshopped - you suggested staying with the stock gearing then (15-45).

Where the heck is Valley racing - it was suggested to me but Googling it hasn't found it????

How much faster is the back straight at Autobahn than the front straight at BHF?  I'm 300-400 RPM short of revlimiter right now at BHF, will this make it at Autobahn?

Autobahn's straight is a little over 1,830 feet.  Blackhawk's straight is a little over 1,900.  However, the turn following the straight at Blackhawk is taken faster than Autobahn's.  Might be a sense of speed issue at the end of both that may throw some off.

So You don't think that the straight is any faster at Autobahn South Course then?

This is only my opinion...

Although the straight is longer, I do not necessarily think it is faster.  I feel you come out of the last corners of each of their turns at approximately the same speed.  But you take Blackhawk's turn one faster than the next kink at the Autobahn.  I am not sure "how much" faster it is, but I am wondering if we are talking a gear's worth or not???  On black and white it appears it would figure out to be a faster straight - Blackhawk's smoother flowing last corner and first out v. In and out chicanes at Autobahn.  I am not at a point of experimentation with gearing and I do not drive an SV.  I hope that came across ok, but then again - I only stayed at a Holiday Inn and got the information off their wireless connection

Sorry..bad joke.

Well, after running Autobahn south I can say that on my Hawk BHF gearing is fine, maybe even a little tall. My speeds at the end of the back straight were slower than the front straight at BHF, might change a little after some more practice but not enough to change from BHF gearing.
