Is there power at Daytona or do we need generators?  Also, is camping allowed in motor homes?  Any practice days?  I saw the Team Hammer thing, but is that a race school or practice?  Thanks.

I've heard talk that they want you out of the Speedway by 6 after a race day. Like cops coming over and saying get out or we are arresting you. So you're fixing your bike and it's in 10 thousand peices, they don't car, shovel it all up, through it in the trailer and work on it in the Rally's parking lot down speedway boulevard.

There is power in the covered garages, not sure about the open garages.  You can not camp in the pit areas, the gaurds start thowing poeple out at about 5:30 to 6:00pm, and they are not nice about it.  There may be camping on the infield but I do not know the details.

Team hammer is realy just practice.

I would hope we can camp there.  I have the camper that hauls the bikes also and getting a hotel is a feakin waste and A LOT more dollars.  Anyone else.  Sounds like they are pretty shitty about being nice.

Park the truck and camper at the walmart rite down the street, there are also campgrounds everywhere down there.

They are just trying to control the crowd and prevent theft.  Ed actually lost his briefcase containing all of our cash.  Turned out that he left it standing in the middle of our garage.  All the cash was still there.  They could be a little nicer about it but I am sure they have to deal with some racers who don't listen.

You hear the stories from the old men about having to kick some famous NASCAR guys out or Mat Mladin. They're friendly enough if you talk to the old guys at DIS.

You gotta be out by 6pm.  That's the rule.   All these guys are doing is enforcing the rules.  I've been down there 3 times and never had a problem with the guards.  Be nice to them, and they'll be nice to you.

My teammate decided to fall down in the dogleg one year and turn his bike into a million pieces.  We did an emergency motor swap into my bike, and didn't finish by 6pm.  Did we argue with the guards?  No.  We just got up early the next morning and finished the bike up then.

Is there a seperate camping section at the track.  I did hear its near the lake in the infield, you just cant be in the actual paddock

You need to be out of the garage area 1 hour after the last checkered flag. If I remember it right. Opens at 7 am ?
Security guys are cool, they are there for us, lots of your hard earned tools, gear ,etc just setting out.
Camping  allowed in the infield, power and water in r/v area, pumpout truck comes when you call and pay.
Hard to believe its that time so soon, just gettin in the groove of things.
