Hey all,

Just curious if anyone witnessed the race 2 1st lap crash in turn 1 at Gman yesterday (MWSS EX).  I got rear-ended by one of the safety-first guys (I believe Miering) and just wondered if anyone saw what happened.  Not looking to blame anyone about anything, just wanting to know how it played out.  It happened behind me, so just curious if anyone could shed some light as to how it happened.  Just want to learn.

It looks like I'm going to be out for awhile with a broken wrist (know for sure tomorrow morning), but I think the other guy rung his bell pretty good... so I guess I was fortunate.

I sat on his rear wheel for a little bit during the incident too  :ahhh:, so the rear end of my suit got a bit tore up... Alexa!!! I'll be contacting you.

Ouch...

How'd the chassis work on your R6 before hand?

Wrist?  Order this now.  http://www.seacoastvitamins.com/Store/product_info.php?products_id=786&osCsid=8faf59f4fe6c5b445e08b64525b503bc

It works.  You'll be knitted and working a lot faster.

Tony seems fine just a little sore , someone pushed him into Mike and that caused the whole melee.

Any chance of some pics Mike, I mean Scooter?

The bike is definately getting better.  It was working really well at BHF a couple weeks ago after we talked on Sunday... the changes were definately in the right direction.  At Gman the changes weren't quite enough.  I talked with Jim that evening and we worked out a few more things and Sunday morning the bike was working better.  I was already faster in the morning warm ups than I'd been there before... then the melee happened.  So, I think I still need to do something with the forks, but it's coming around.  I think it's a bit over sprung...

Don (my www.csbracing.com partner) told me he went and talked with Tony Sunday afternoon and said he was already talking about mid-Ohio this weekend!!

Jim, thanks for the info. on the crash.

I'll let you know what happens with the wrist.

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Well, I was working turn 1, and the only CCS cornerworker that showed up to work, unfortunalty the other bikes were passing in front of you as you guys were crashing, so I also did not get the full perspective on how it occured.  I'm glad your both ok. Meiring was wobbling around and medics insisted that he take the ride back with them, he kept saying no I'm ok (that was the tough guy syndrome), while the medic was keeping him from falling back down while holding on to his arm.

As far as the storm goes, well here I am thinking, yep, there's lightning, and were wearing electrical equipment. :wtf: I started taking some pics of the storm, as soon as the storm started coming through, one strong swift breeze lifted the EZups and exploding clouds of black and slight green came quick. Here's a couple of pics for ya. The first one is the start of the race Paul was talking about. After the rain was done, which lasted about a half hour or so, it cooled down for the rest of the races and it was a beautiful day. Great work by all the racers for sticking it out and showing up. I had a great time. It's not just a job, it's an adventure.

Hey Mike, I was a rider or two behind the crash going into 1, the  only thing I really saw was a bunch of sparks and both of you guys getting tossed to the high side(so it looked).  At the same time I was looking at the crash I was trying to look through the turn so I wouldn't go  off.  It didn't look very gentle, so I hope you heal up quick.

Well just got back from the orthopedic doc. this morning and she said I have a crack in one of the fore-arm bones down at the wrist.  She cranked on it like mad trying to zero in on the location of the problem, hurt like crazy!!  So now I've got a permanent cast on and need to go back in a month for more xrays.  Looks like I'll likely miss the next couple of events... oh well, it could be worse.

Thanks for the info. on the crash.  It sure helps to try and put things together in my head.

Good luck to Tony this weekend as well!  Hope he's well and back up to speed.
