Customized mapping, I'm a believer...

A Big thanks to Billy at Hitman Motorsports for waking up my 05 GSXR so I can at least stay in the draft of the 06 R6's now.  I've never been a big believer, but I was 2 seconds faster after Hitman built me a customized map.  The bike gained an extra 4 horses, improved mid-range and the throttle is the smoothest I've ever ridden.  I thought it was going to be a waste of money, but I was deparate to try anything to keep up with the 06 R6's.  This was a gamble that paid off big time.  I'll never go w/o a customized map again.

Actually, I quit unplugging one of your spark plugs so you actually had full power...THAT was a mistake! :ahhh:

Seriously, I think a HUGE part was that you were riding the piss out of that gixxer last weekend-hell of a ride!!

For sure..
each bike has it's own characteristics, even 2 bikes that are the same model with the same pipe, filter, etc. Best to map with the type of fuel you intend to run as well.

2 seconds a lap just from from a custom map  now that really is impressive.

Lap times don't lie...  Maybe not all of the two seconds were due entirely to the custom map.  The guys I was battling with all weekend even commented how much faster the bike was coming out of the corner and down the straight.  Actually being able to stay in the draft of the 06 R6 motivated me to ride better, which is a result of the bike running faster.

The whole point being if you have a PC with a map you downloaded, spend the extra $$ to get a custom map, you won't regret it.

Hmmm, from my point of view it almost seemed like the bike got a bit slower on Sunday. Any idea why?

Maybe it was the weather conditions?  Maybe I need to have a customized map every day before the races?  I doubt it anything to do with going to the performing arts theatre.

Good times, can't wait to make the same mistake again!!

You've mentioned "the 06 R6" three times.  You must have some mental block against going fast against one of them.

Ride the bike.  You can compete with "the 06 R6".

Cheers.
